Hi there folks...

I need some educated advice. I've had the 151s for over a year and love it. I have an opportunity to sell it to a willing upgrader so that I can do the same. I jumped back onto all the regular forums to see what's good and within my price range here in Vancouver, Canada.

The Benq is just loved on this forum and I can see why...great price, good response time. My beefs from online pics and reading, since i've never seen one up close, is that the bezel/frame is kind of ugly compared to the Samsung thin line models and the colours might not be as well repoduced compared to the samsungs.

I love those Samsung models, but it would seem that ghosting is a problem on the larger ones. That said, I've never noticed ghosting on my 15 inch LCD that has bothered me. I play racing games, FPS games (only a bit), and lots of BF1942.

I would love to shell out the money on a 19inch LCD, but I'm just a little worried that it will suck compared to what I've been used to with the 151s. Maybe someone here has some first hand experience.

My system for 1280*1024 gaming:
AMD XP1600+
512MB PC2700 RAM
ATI 9500pro modded to 9700pro

This should hold up speed wise. Any thoughts suggestions here would be *greatly* appreciated. Here's my going buy prices in VAN for these LCDs:

BenQ FP767 $505CAN
Samsung 171N $619CAN
NEC 1760V $659CAN
NEC 1760NX $699CAN (has DVI)
Samsung 191N $869CAN
Samsung 191T $979CAN (has DVI)

Cheers
Steph

well what's more important a good looking monitor or a good looking bezel?

i'd say go benq. unless the samsung states that it's response time is like 20ms or less i wouldn't get it.

I have a samsung 151v and it only displays at 1024x768 and it says 1024x768 on the monitor or does it depend on the video card

151s is a 1024*768 native resolution LCD.

The samsungs all have 25ms response times. It's fine for a 15 inch but i've read that it doesn't translate so well when the screen size is 17inches or bigger. That's what i'm hoping to read here...someone with a 171n or 191n or 191t and how it games.

Looking for opinions

Thx
Steph

Just throwing out another LCD for opinions...

Anyone have any experience with the Viewsonic VP171B?

Looks great with thin bezel, 16ms, and lots of inputs, but in person experience always holds the most value.

can't give you any opinion other than get the benq its really a great monitor. the bezel isn't noticeable once you see the image quality.
