You should be able to uninstall them fine. Google driver cleaner. Its a program a lot of people use to remove their nvidia cards when going to ati. there is also the nasty file remover (NFR) but i havent had any luck with that.

Just make sure when you do remove all the drivers that you upgrade chipset and direct x to go along with it.

Eventually, you will need to format. Windows doesnt really like it too much when you change hardware like that. So if you want to see the best bang out of that new card, you should definatly plan for it.

I did the switch from an X1900 XTX to a 8800 GTS. I unistalled all drivers from Nvidia and ATI through control panel, then rebooted in safe mode and uninstalled all Nvidia and ATI drivers with Driver cleaner and rebooted. I reinstalled my Nvidia chipset drivers then rebooted, and last I installed my Nvidia Forceware 97.02 drivers, and rebooted.

All of my graphics performance is just fine in games and on benchmarks. I get no errors or crashes.

i just blew the drives and control panel off, 8800 is running well with a 11208 2k6 stock gpu 3.6ghz cpu

I had to reformat to get it to work properly. However, I had nVidia and ATI drivers on my computer and it was not happy at all.

Is the 8800 so differnet? I have never had problems flipping between ATI and nVidia. Heck I even ran both at the same time on my a8n-sli board :)

(great for watching movies and Gaming at the same time :) )

Yeah I don't see why going to the 8800 would require a reformat. Driver Cleaner always does the job...for me...
I feel sorry for people that get a new video card from ATI<-->Nvidia, and don't know about Driver Cleaner.
