I had just got win2k going on one of my resurrected PIII machines and I had CPU-Z running, showing PIII700E @ 1108mhz and forgot to shut cpu-z b4 rebooting, and now every time I start or reboot the computer it shows the desktop and cpu-z with the above showing.
So I figure somehow Windows 2000 made a splash screen of my running program?
Well, it does not bother me in the slightest, but I thought I'd share this little quirk, and maybe see what others think.
This is one of the very few oddities of windows 2000 and it is stable as a rock, which is why I am still running it...if it ain't broke, don't fix it. :)

CPU-Z running or picture of CPU-Z running?

If it's the former, is CPU-Z set to run at Startup?

yeah, definitely check the 'Startup' folder and the 'Run' locations in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
