Total 2DMark 2001 score 17198

That's my score with just a mild o/c. I'm waiting for my OCZ PC3700 Gold to come in the mail and then we shall see what an ATI can REALLY do. This is my N/P 9700 score. Any FX owners wanna compare?

well for one thing this is not an NVIDIA v/s ATI post. in case you didn't read it? and second you can't compare an 9700 to a 5600. the 9700 is an 8 piplined card and the fx5600 is only a 4 piplined card meaning only half the performance. ya if i had a 5900 ultra or a 5800 ultra i would like to compare. here is an fx 5800 score if you really whant to compare.

If this thread proves that a $400 card can beat a $100 card by 10% we'll all run out and spend $400... But I'll get the $400 card that beats the $100 card by 30%

I don't see why this is worth an argument, unless you want a ATI Vs nVidia debate.

The new FX5600 Ultra is $230 last time I checked, and it was just released so the prices should fall.

My little 5200U is going to eat Walldow's 5600U in 2001 by the weekend :) though he has me for breakfast in 3dmark03 :D ..

You don't need to use 330 build Walldow because all cards are in the same class so it is a level playing field, only if you want to compare Ati to nvidia and we all know Ati is better at the moment until 5900 just about matches it. Possibly.

That guy with the 4600 and P 3Ghz out to pull his finger out .. my granny gets better scores than that ...LOL

so what you got under the hood of that 5200 ultra. i'm getting 390/1000 on the 5600 ultra!

need info on a volt mod for the core. and i need it somthing bad! looking everyware for info and can't find anything. i do however have a buddy at gamers-inc that has a revision 2.0 bord with the 400mhz core clock peeds and 800mhz mem speeds and the latest bios. he is supposed to be getting me a copy of the new revisions bios from his card!:D if i could get a volt mod done on the core i have a swiftech water block for it but i'm not hooking it up till i get the volt mod done!

so you got any info on volting the FX?

Hi,

None whatsoever I am afraid, the 5200/5600 cards seem to be out of favour and most people are modding either the 4200 or the Ati cards.

My card is doing 370/700 at the moment and it is not maxed out, I just beat your score by the way. I've got a Peltier to go on it either this weekend or the next, but you are right, a waterblock or Peltier would be best with a vmod as well.

Too warm by far for us air cooled people damn summer !

well iguess you would beat my score yore pushing 3600mhz comparaed to my 2500mhz.;) try taking it doen to say 2900mhz thats what it takes on a p4 to keep up with me. then see what you get! also that score hasn't passed all test! a card isn't 100% stable if it can't finish all test ! just my opinion? nice score for a 5200 ultra but youre system is a little better than mine! how mutch you got in it? i only got around $800 in mine.:D

what are your speeds?

i got my TI4600 with stock everything @

324 / 729

:D - prob no where near the FX - but i got over 18k in 3d mark with everything on the lowest

Easily get 14k in3dmark2k1 with my ti 4200

I get 12.5k completely non OCed ( meaning 2.2ghz cpu only, not 2.5)

And just for those inquiring minds, there's an additional nvidia driver version 44.16 published by dell and available from www.guru3d.com, which has given me the best results yet. Pure eye candy. I haven't run the tests yet, but visually is glass.

k

my ti4600 from 300/648 - upto 324 / 729 (i can hit 754, but 729 seems to be the sweet spot: - that is stock and no voltmod - water cooling arrive this week.

i just hit my high now of 18,560 in 3dmark - all setting on low 640 x 480 -16 bit.

what are you getting at 3dmark 2001 default settings 1024x768 that is what every one looks at when comparing marks. i don't think anyone runs games in 640x 480 and 16bit color? not nocking it because i too have run 800x600 just to see what my ti 4200 can do. but it's not used to compare against other systems. 99% of the folks benching won't take those marks seriouse. yes we tweek the card settings and drivers but 3dmark always at default settings.

Standard 3Dmarks scores are 768x1024, 32bit.

No one will have any idea how a 16 bit low-res. score compares.

It goes unsaid that ALL 3dmark scores posted are 1024 x 768 32bit color, no AA no AF, ubless other-wise noted...

my standard hits around 15k last i did it, will re run it later on - playing some UT after getting my cpu to 3.2 stable it seems - finally!

i know no one goes by 640 x 480 - i did that to get the highest posible score i can - which for the ti4600 range has put me in the top 10 of futuremark :) with P4's.

also for the "if u own an nvidia post here"" thread - said to post your higest score :)

Yeah true, bit of a cheat using the P4 and Canterwood :D It will do 3750Mhz as well on a good day, not bad for air cooling. It'd be interesting to run it at 2.9 and compare, when I max the card out I'll put it down and then we'll see how we compare.

I don't run all tests because I'm impatient, but you are correct of course that is a better judge of stability. I'll do that as well at some point.

Cost of machine, inccluding monitor approximately £1900 or $2700 or so I'd say so not very good value for money points wise.

The scores for 3dmark03 are poor compared to 5600, I wonder why. maybe some difference in the pixel shaders in the 5200 ? Might have a look today to find out.

Andy

dido

i am impatient myself so i only do the game tests - when i am more awake i will do another defualt ruin with everything on - also do a 2003 run (i am in the 1800 range with my ti4600 and the 4k range with my 9700)

I have the pny fx5600 and would say that my pny geforce 4 ti4400 would way out perform the fx5600! I hate the 5600 and I am returning it to compusa!! I even overclocked the 5600 and it still did not compare

Just got 13,780 which is the top 5200U score. Also the top 5600 and 5600U score for 3dmark2001.

Still no vmods and still stock hsf. Air cooled.

Will try for 14k this weekend.

Regards

Andy
