I just did a bios flash on my mb .I did it on my deasktop asus update. When it said Flash done sucsessfuly and to restart and press deleate to enter new settings.Shut down went good, but no restart.....nouthing..nada...start to sweat...calmed down and tryed to clear C-mos.It is in a hard place to get to,so I made a tool out of tin foil and a screwdriver.Once done it rebooted and ran rite into startup. With the new bios. Now I can use the xp cpus. The new bios is 1008 and will let your mb clock up to 15+and 266fsb.

Anyway just my 2cents

Wow crazy story. I had bios flashing, probably won't again unless there's a major reason. Bios flashing always gets me jumping, my heart is racing!

I flashed mine to 1008 about 2 weeks ago. Went w/o a hitch, but it throttled back my ram from CL2 to CL3. Found out about a week later.

Under the 2nd tab, there should be a sub-menu for chip settings. go there, and there should be an option to either have SPD set your ram for you, or to do it manually. Do it manually, and change the values to 2
