It figures, I finally decide to go AMD and the MB I want ends up being far to expensive. I suppose I could get the Epox but I'd much rather get the Gigabyte. Any Idea how much it might drop in price in the next month or month and a half?

glad to see you are on the good side now! the DDR mobos probably won't drop too much but as soon as something better comes along they will drop quite a bit. Take another look at the Epox most people only have good things to say about it.

I know the Gigabyte board is worth the money, it's just that I have college to think about and I really can't afford to drop $200 on a MB. I really want this board but that's just a little rediculous. Some sellers on pricewatch have it listed for as much as $400+! The Epox is good from what I've been reading but I'd much rather have the Gig. Well, hopefully it will come down in price a bit by the time I'm ready to upgrading my system. The only reason I hadn't gone AMD earlier was prices for the good MB's were always too high. Hopefully that won't hold me back again. If necessary I suppose I'll just get the Epox, but you know how it is when you have to get something other than exactly what you wanted, It sours things just a little. =]

What does the Gigabyte have that the Epox doesn't that you really need? The Epox is easy to overclock and is very stable. It does have dip switches and some jumpers but I've heard that is actually an advantage over BIOS settings in certain overclocking situations. If the Gigabyte has some feature(s) that you really think are worth $75 more then go for it. Otherwise just get the Epox and be happy :)

The EPoX is a much better value for your money. I wouldn't be afraid of it just because it has dipswitches for the multiplier... After my experiences with BIOS mult/FSB settings, I really don't mind having at least part of them set in cold hard dips. ;-)

I wouldn't drop $70 on a Gigabyte. The EPoX is fast, stable and hassle free.

I defiently agree :)

Yay! 100 posts

I guess your right, I think I'll start thinkin' about the Epox. I've been surfin' around a few sires and it may be time to start getting my feet wet with water cooling. I could throw that extra cash at a water rig.
Thanks for the advice guys.
