Here's the system as of now:
Gigabyte GA 7N400-L
AMD 3200 Barton
ATI Radeon 9600 128mb
WD 80g hd
Maxtor 120g hd
Aspire 520 dual fan PU

Is anyone running 3 sticks of 512 PC3200 with this board without any errors or problems? Before we spend the $$$$ on it, we want to be sure it will work. With my other board,(GA-7NNXP) Gigabyte & Kingston said it would take 3 sticks of 512 PC3200, but it wouldn't. I had to use 2x512 double sided and 1x256 double + 1x256 single sided to get the 1.5g

According to Kingston " Virtually any configuration up to 1.5GB can be reached using any combination of Kingston's 256 and 512MB modules. This system only supports 6 banks of memory. If three double-sided DIMMs are used, the 4th socket is disabled."

Maximum Memory: 1.5GB using current Kingston 400MHz DDR modules
3GB using 333MHz or 266MHz DDR modules

Anyone have any suggestions as to what they would use if you had this board and proc? Nothing is oc'd as of yet, but we are going to try.

Thanks :attn:

Hi

I have that motherboard with two 512s running dual and one 512 on it's own all at 3200 and it works fine except there is a problem with how the agp interprets some graphics (hitman: contracts for example runs badly with several different combinations of hardware that otherwise can be used to run it fine on a several different tested motherboards - all abit). Looking at the spec on the ga-7n400-l it looks sweet. I'm not sure why this problem exists when running a particular graphics engine but I have two ga-7n400-l and they both do the same with nvidia 5200 128, radeon 9000 128, diff hdds etc.

If you're using three single-sided dimms and want to use the dual ddr function, put them in slots 1, 2 and 3; 1, 3 and 4 or 2, 3 and 4. Slot 4 can only be used for double-sided if you've got 1 and 2 taken and 3 free (eg don't stick ss in 1, 2 and 4 - sos that was a simpler way toput it :bang head ).

p.s. you can download the manual at giga-byte.com

We decided to buy some Geil ram- 2 sticks PC3200 512 sticks. We then took a 512 Kingston PC3200 stick out of mine & ran a few apps with it, it ran with no problems. I think the problem with my 7NNXP board is due to the daughter card on it. I never thought to take it off & try the ram that way. We'll eventually get a 3rd stick for him since I think it works. He's running the radeon 9600. Will try it while he games (MOHAA) and runs his server at the same time.

Thanks
