I've used Asus & Abit the last few years...

Is this board GA-K8NS Pro nForce3 250 any good?

I'm going A64 soon and I'm just carrying out research... As you do.

Got a Gigabyte K8NS with a 3200 Clawhammer and 2 x 512MB Twinmos CH5 doung 225 x 10 1:1, nice board.
