game problems

I had a geforce 2 ti 200, then upgraded to a radeon 8500 le, i reformatted to get rid of older drivers, but now whenever I play command and conquer regengade or ut2k4 it is totally unbearable and glichy. My other rig xp2500+ asus nforce 2 and 512 pc 3200 ran those games fine. Now im running a celleron 2.0 with 512 pc 2700 and 8500 le. This is the gigabyte maya 8500., anyways any help figuring this out would greatly be appreciated!

Switching to a Celeron could be a factor. Celeron chips are far less capable due to a smaller cache.
