I was given a GameSpy membership. I have no idea what it is or what it does. I installed the software and I am not sure what I am suppose to do next. Do I play games online, do I have to have games on my machine to play, do I download them from somewhere or do I have to purchase them 1st, what is the deal?

You buy/download them and then the gamespy detects them and you can play them online, but gamespy sucks.

Yeah you're better off joining online games from within the multiplayer game itself using the ingame server browser.

With Gamespy, you have to click to join a game, then it has to go into the game and wastes a lot of time.
