From what I hear that's a decent set. I just hate to do MIR's.
They're annoying but OnRebate is amazingly fast these days, All Rebates shouldn't be too bad i haven't used them but when you pre-register online things tend to speed up.

i use the set and i think its great.

it came in helpful during the summer when i was still playing cal css. I could hear the footsteps so incredibly clear.

These are not decent they are simply one of the best gaming headphones especially for counter-strike. They may not have the bass but if you are playing online and sound is a huge part of game play these are definately it.

Good headset but my mic will pick up my sound card's output (karajan module on my DFI). I don't have that problem with my Sennheiser headset, just the Icemats.

Well, I got my headset today in the mail (didn't take long to ship at all and it was free shipping). I am very pleased with the feeling and sound quality of this headset. I am on a teamspeak server every night when playing forgotten hope and my friends are able to hear me fine on the included mic (I have it attached to my moniter). I was actually kinda surprised that the volume for the mic was loud enough considering its probably 2 feet from my mouth if not farther. The bass on the headphones for music and games seems to be much better than my old plantronics dsp-500s. Overall, I'll probably start using these as my solid gaming headphones and demote my dsp's to my backups.

Once again, thanks for the tip on these!

Can u elaborate on this? I have a lanparty w/ karajan audio, too. Is there a hum or something that is caused by the module and mic?

There is no hum or anything. But lets say you are playing CS, there are lots of footsteps and gunshots going off. Now if I talk in ventrilo everybody will hear me talking, AND they will here the footsteps and gunshots from MY game of CS.

At first I thought it was some setting on my PC, but I tried for hours and never fixed the issue. And when I plug my Sennheiser PC150s in I don't have the problem.

A friend of mine got in on the deal too and his works perfectly though. Which makes me think its a combination of the sound card and headset. Another person joined vent and was having the same problem I was, he said he was getting a new sound card to fix it. I asked him what kind of headset he was using and he said, "Icemat."

I still think the headset is worth the $10. If the mic doesn't work for you they make very nice headphones.

I'm going to get these, but i'm just looking for something for 10 bucks to raise my order to 50. Basically, you can get a 10 dollar item for free, since you spend an extra 10 and get 10 off. Can't find anything decent though ...

edit...nevermind, most of the decent 10 dollar items don't have free shipping....

anyways, I ordered the headset, thanks for posting.

Yes, It is actually a setting on the pc. I had this exact same problem with my last headset that wasn't usb.

Here's what you do to correct it:
-Go to the speaker icon by your clock in the corner
-Go to the options button on the task bar and select properties
-Now select recording instead of playback and check mark everything on that list below (this will only display the controls for these items, it won't change anything yet)
-Now press ok and you should be back at the volume control
-Checkmark the Microphone as your selected recording device and uncheck what was checked before (most likely line in or stereo).
-Now exit out of that and try ventrillo again and see if your clanmates can hear everything coming through your speakers like before. It should be fixed and pick up only your voice.

Hopefully this works for you as I have had this problem before. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion but microphone is selected as the input.

You're most likely experiencing a mixer issue with ventrilo. That is, if you can record in a regular program without that kind of output to input. Try plugging your problematic headset in and using windows recorder to test. If its fine, I gurantee you its a mixer setting in ventrilo.

I know my ventrilo automatically switches settings based on the type of audio output I plugin.

I tried messing with the settings in ventrilo too. Maybe I will try again. I am supposed to be getting an X-FI sound card. I was gonna wait until I got it to see if it made a difference but it is taking forever for it to get sent out.

These just arrived for me today and I had the same problem as Dermen. What seemed to work for me was:

Double-click the Master Volume icon>Options>Properties>Adjust Volume for Recording>Check the box to mute Stereo Mix.

All I can say is the sound quality is superb. Cheers
