I'm looking for some ideas. I want to run a contest but I need some ideas to determine winners. The prize is for some extra CPU cycles for Folding. Here's the list so far. Please post your replies here and I'll add to the list. Thanks Everyone.

- Random Selection. (Name in a hat type thing).
- See who can recruit the most folders.
- See who can climb the ranks in a given time (like the XP contest)
- ...

And if anyone would be willing to donate some CPU time it would be greatly appreciated. Of course this will have to wait until the XP1600+ contest is over on April 1st.

Starfox : you'll have to dual that out with the other 5 oc.com members with starf as the start of their name.

Rezman5 : It's a good idea, but it's currently in use. And the other contest has a little more of a prize than mine. There's an XP1600+ up for grabs. But it'll be considered.

Clboertien: If you do something like that, I'll donate how ever many my pII 266 can do in that time span(you guys are much better at doing the math and figuring out how many that might be), And to boot, I just ordered another mobo and celery 500 for it. So hopefully, by the time that rolls around, it will be even better for ya! Although you'll prolly have to tell me how to hold the finished ones or how to report them.

Your the first on my list of donaters. Any and all cycles will help. I think the 266 should be able to get about 3 a week maybe. And the cel 500 should get a little better, maybe 4/5. Maybe someone with a similar setup can give you a more accurate number.

Well after moving to south africa lifes been a pain sorting legal stuff on the house, and all that stuff!! Don't get a minutes rest, now i'm sorting out the network, and i'm keeping myself real busy!!

Hopefully the comps at college will help!!

I'll be willing to donate my p4 rig to the winner(since it's the only one i have at the moment). It doesn't compete with the AMD machines but it's a decent folder. Also, I like the idea about points based on how much they move up in the folding ranks, but, I think if they recruit a folder, they should get X amount of points added to their score. Just an idea...

I'm trying to get some machines folding at my college, too: unfortunately I can't seem to get the program to access the internet when it needs to. Ah, but just imagine the possibilities...
I like the recruiting idea. Seeing who can climb the highest in 3 days would be a great idea if everyone were starting on a near even plate, but I don't think it would be too fair-I've moved up almost 300 spaces in less than a week because I just started. But, if there were 2 contests-one for people with less than 100 wu's, and one for those over 1000...hmmm..naw, too much of a pain. I'd say go for the sign up drive.
