NO WAY! you can easily overclock a Q8200 to 3.2 ish and even more if ur good.. trust me..u'll miss those extra 2 cores later on..as for gaming , i played call of duty 4 modern warfare 2 today, and it used all 4 cores on my q6600. i had decent fps on all settings maxed out except resolution (1440x900)..thats with a 3870..i dont think the 4mb cache will hurt gameplay at all. infact, i saw on toms hardware or somwhere that an e5200 was only slightly behind (5-6 fps) in crysis, cod4, etc. than some other quadcores when paired with the same graphics card..

woops didnt see your post above mentioning ur unsuccessful oc..i say try some experimenting and try to get the quad to 3+ghz.. it took me awhile to learn how to overclock my q6600 to 3.4 without raising volt too much... i heavily relied on fine tuning vtt volt and gtl ref volt.

how can i check what im getting with the FPS i play MW2 and CS1.6.
ive just heard the E8400 is solid with games and i dont play to many, may get about one more thats about it. but i have the voltage almost to max about 1.375 now and can only go about 1.45 i believe. i tried getting it 2.9ghz this morning but no success with that voltage so i may raise it some and try for 2.9/3.0 here soon

Fraps.

And I doubt that chip needs that much voltage for such a small overclock. Please, for the 3rd time, fill out that template for redduc in your other thread. Its quite difficult for people to help you when we all are boucning back and forth between threads!!!!!!!!

alright thin k i got my sig filled out and i would post everything but i have already done it in a nother thread and dont wanna keep posting the same things all over different threads
