I'm building my own computer for the first time since my old one went to crap on me. I tried keeping the price under $700 as I won't need a massive amount of gaming power. Here's what I have so far:

Motherboard $129.99:
Newegg.com - ASUS P5N-E SLI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

CPU $164.00:
Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Conroe 1.86GHz 2M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail

Video Card $94.99:
Newegg.com - EVGA 256-P2-N615-TX GeForce 7600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail

Case $49.99:
Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-WW Black/Silver Aluminum Bezel, SECC Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail

PSU $109.99:
Newegg.com - ENERMAX Liberty ELT500AWT ATX12V 500W Power Supply 90V~265V (Auto Adjusted) UL, cUL, TUV, CB - Retail

Ram $52.99:
Newegg.com - Kingston 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory - Retail

Total: $601.95 + $50 Tax + $30 shipping = $688.36

Regarding the motherboard, the reason I got that one was because I thought I needed two PATA slots (I'm using my HDD and optical drives from my old computer), but it turns out I'd only need one. If I decided to change it I have no idea what I'd switch to for a similar price. Also it looks like my motherboard only has a north bridge, will no south bridge be a problem?

For the CPU it's been suggested to go with a E6320 rather than a E3600. Only $1 more for more power. Would there be any downside?

Anyone see anything else that won't be compatable or anything like that?

The E6320 is the same just with extra 2Mb of cache.
It's worth it to spend the extra $15 on RAM to get a 2gb kit and $50 on video card (7900GS) to enhance your performance so much...

I'm with Hazaro on the e6320 and w/ Rigrider on the DS3 mobo. If you don't game the 7600GT should be more than adequate, but you may want to consider the EVGA 7900GS (@ Newegg) for $130 after MIR which would be a HUGE improvement for $35. If you don't need the graphics, at least go with a 2GB kit as it is the standard IMO.

Any good recommendations on a 2GB kit of Ram?

I wouldn't say I'm a huge gamer. Before my old computer crashed I was running GeForce 6800 GPU and that was handling every game I wanted to play fine. If the 7600 GT is just slightly better than my old 6800 it should be fine.

Edit: Ok I just switched some things.

Does anyone see anything that doesn't match up? As far as I can tell everything should be compatible, but I only know the basic stuff to look at.
