Getting pins unbent

Well me and Aidenswarrior were scrounging through his basement and found his two processors that were thought to be dead. But, we are unsure. The pins are decently bent, but probably fixable. I am wondering what methods should we take to unbend them?

Btw, do you think there is a local computer store that would have a machine or something. Also, how long is the mfg warranty with AMD, they are about a year old and was wondering if they could be sent back for new ones.

grab a ballpoint pin, remove the ink thingy, put the pin in the little hole, and bend gently.

i've used a mechanical pencil (same idea as above) and slid a credit card through the rows to straighten the pins

Yeah, pen/mechanical pencil is there way to go.

As long as none are broken, it's all good.

Also, retail Procs, both AMD and Intel, have a 3 year warrantee. If they are OEM procs, then you are just SOL.

If they arent bent HORRIBLY, you can try lining it up with the socket and pushing it down. Although, the ball point pen/mechanical pencil idea sounds much safer.

they are bent to much to just stick it in the holes.
