Hi guys I've just recently upgraded my gpu to a 1070ti which needs an 8 pin male pci express cable but I've been struggling to find the correct cable to buy since I just realised I dont have the right cable =( I only have the pcie cable with 8 pin on the psu and 6 pin on the gpu connecter currently which wont run the card.

unfortunately i lost all the spare psu cables from moving :/

So currently it only fits 6 pins with my old existing cable on the gpu and when i turn it on it says "PLEASE POWER DOWN AND CONNECT THE PCIE POWER CABLES FOR THIS GRAPHICS CARD"

This is the PSU

I've found this Silverstone cable online (i dont have this cable):

which I"m pretty sure will do the job but was wondering if I can only buy silverstone and nothing else since I'm in Australia and I realised I have to order from USA for this particular cable which can takes weeks for delivery... Is this a generic cable I can use other brands for? Please let me know! I'm paranoid I'll order the wrong cable and I have to wait weeks for another one =/

I'm not getting this. There is no reason the supplied 8/6-Pin PCIE connector shouldn't work.

DaveB is correct, the majority of the PCIe power connectors that come with PSUs are the 6+2 type. The cables supplied with your Silverstone will work and are probably colour coded for that connection to the PSU so you get the right cable.

Sorry i said the wrong thing (im pretty noob).

I was wrong to say 8/6 pin. The one that was already connected to my old gpu and psu was 8 pin on psu and 6 pin on gpu. unfortunately i lost all the spare psu cables from moving :/

I dont have that silverstone cable above i just googled it and was thinking of buying it

Sorry for the confusion! Im crap with terminology haha
