Hey all new here and to posting on forums. I have looked thru the posts and can't find my problem exactly so starting new post.
First spec's:
ASUSTeK Computer INC. Crosshair IV Formula (AM3)
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme
GIGABYTE GV-R687OC-1GD Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit (11.7 drivers)
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Western Digital Caviar Black WD5002AALX 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5
MS Windows 7 64-bit SP1
Antec Twelve Hundred V3
Apevia Iceberg power 680w power supply
Monitor 37" 1080p and 22" 1650*1080 (not running in eyfinity or anything)
The only overclocks are by the manufacturer I have'nt change any spec's.
Problem is my system crashes on all 2011 games.I get error driver has recoverd from a crash.I start a new game on Witcher 2 and gothic 4 (newest drivers and patches BTW) watch cut scenes fine. Then when regular game starts I get a black screen for a few seconds then major tearing ,blocks and U name it then the Gcard driver crashes to desktop.I can run witcher 1 on full spec's with a movie streaming on on the 22" and be looking up quest info NP!
Same issue has happened with all drivers and patches and is exactly the same for both games.I have tried gothic 4's sound fix re-installed everything clean. This includes OS,Gcard drivers, Both games, physx and U name it.When I install/uninstall programs or drivers I always us Ccleaner and driver sweeper (great programs)and restart.Tried to crash card with all free benchmark programs I find furmark, fluidmark, testmark, shadertoymark, etc. and temps stay at 70 c and never crashes.I have run prime95 in mixed ram/cpu for 8hrs several different intervals NP.
Although it does crash on heaven dx11 benchmark same as the games.Low res high res tess no tess no matter the settings in the games and heaven bench same crash.I have run the gambit and can't find a thing wrong tell I start these games.
I really think it is the card but somethings still nag at me.DO I have a big anuff power supply? It is a few yrs old and I know they lose some power output after a few yrs from what I have read.I think I can rule out RAM,CPU,Temp (because it crashes so fast and Nvr goes above 70c) ,drivers and OS.I think LOL?
Glad to entertain any ideas just want this system to work stable before Skyrim comes out lol.
