Well...where to start. Got the CAK38 yesterday from 2cool. Great service. This heat sink is impressive to say the least. Very heavy. Machining was not perfect but I'm sure Copper is hard to work with.

Strapped it on the Slocket w/o any problems. (lost 2 DIMM slots) Stripped the included paste in favor of AS2. What's all this whining about GlobalWin clips???? Booted up the PIII 850 @ 1003. Case open, I could not get over the noise created by the "housefan wannabe" 38cfm fan. But damn can that thing cool the copper.

By the way. The fan on the CAK38 blows onto the sink...doesn't suck air from it (someone on-list thought differently). Ran the 850 @ 1003, 1.85v @ 20c (room temp 27c). Fired up Seti and let it run for about 1/2 an hour...no bugs!!!! Load temp.....28c!!!!! I was able to get up to [email protected] but I'm gonna wait a while! No 1.13 from this chip!!

I'm sure it's gonna get worse w/ it gets warmer and Seti runs longer but I'm extremely impressed by this heat sink. Well worth the dif. in $$$ Thanks for all the continued help and advice.
