I just got my Corsair PC3200 XMS CL2 from googlegear $99. shipped. that sale is over. well I took out my Mushkin pc2100 Black and droped in the Corsair went from 12.5x 160fsb giving 2000 to 11x 183fsb giving 2000. befor it wouldnt even boot at high fsb.
I havent tested anything yet but it booted at least.

KT333 chipset doesn't have a 1/6 divider, so unless something REALLY wierd is going on, 200 will impossible.

However, the 180 range is quite possible, if the rest of hardware is up for it, as you've already seen.

wtf, ive seen lots of ppl with a7v333 and 210MHz fsb, like maxima88 . I cant get passed 190 tho, 190 is rock solid and 191 fails in a couple of secs :(

I had same mobo and same problem , then told my wife hey honey i think your computer needs an upgrade ;)

Now i have Nforce board

210 FSB with crappier ram than you.

Definatly find a way outta that board when you can. You prob be able to do 220+ easy

OMG, I thought I was the only one that knew that trick!

"Sweetie, your computer is old, and it needs an upgrade. As the computer I have is MUCH faster, I'll just give it to you and I'll throw together a little something for myself (ya know, nforce2, AthlonXP 3000+, a gig or so of RAM...something small like that, shouldn't be more than $1000 or so, really) You'll be getting quite the upgrade, babe!"

just gotta make sure to put the emphasis in the right place!

im sorta like cosmo...

daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaadddd, i think my sisters need a beter puter... (so i buy new cool stuff and just change this to give it to my sisters...)

That's it, time for new ram. My PC2100 can't go past 142 ish, Time for 512MB of PC3200 or PC3500. Now would I be better off with 2 -256 or 1 -512. Right now one of my 256 will clock a little higher than the other if I try them one at a time.

Is there a max amount of physical memory you can run in Win98? I have heard 512 is the max, is that true?
