The best now is the Epox 8k7a. It has a bios update allowing for a /5 and /6 pci divider. ON the SDRAM side, you can't go wrong with the KK266.

What do you mean that the Epox 8k7a has a bios update for allowing a /5 and /6 pci divider?

That means that you can run at 167 fsb with your pci and agp cards at 33.33, where there supposed to be.

yeah but what about the printer problem? on some boards when u plug in a printer it wont start. then they say to cut a transistor off the board? personally i don't wanna be cutting up my board. i'll stick to something with less bugs.

I personally have a bit of trouble swallowing this one.. having to snip a resistor because of a printer? Riiiiiight. *rolls eyes*

Something with less bugs? Good luck finding one, not much comes out these days that someone can't find something wrong with. Seems we're looking for things to be wrong with hardware, lately.

you don't belive me? would you believe AMD World? http://www.amdworld.co.uk/8k7aisue.htm check it out. has a whole list of problems with the board and how to fix em.

the Iwill is just as good and there are no "issues" or potential "issues" with it. Great board(I'm ordering one just as soon as I can Sell my cd-RW drive. Anybody interested? 12x 10x 32x. QPS External Mac/PC firewire Make offer). Add that and a amd 1ghz(266) and you've got a great system(after a little OC). I was gonna get a epox also but then someone suggested the Iwill.

well.......... I think I'am going to stick with the Iwill maybe I might get the Epox 3 years from now... the Epox 3xka or whatever it is is going for $120 plus $6 s&h and the Iwill kk266 is going for $116 something....

or how about this post I found........http://forums.overclockers.ws/forums/UltraBoard.cgi?action=Read&BID=4&TID=14696&SID=166422

well if i can advise you ,it would be the IWILL,ive had 2 abit boards (kt7a raids) and man did i have a headache from them, got my IWILL today ( i know its a little early to talk about it, but im impressed so far ) its been a breeze to set up and hasnt shown any signs of crapping it self ( ive been on it all day and its 2:45 am here in australia) and ive been pushing it to death with halflife and everything else i can think of, definately a big difference for me................good luck mate

The iwill should get all the good review because I think if the Northbrige chip can run overclocked without any themal compound then you know thats a very stable board.

EPOX 8KTA3PRO

This is EPOX's latest SDRAM board, just hitting the streets. It is an improved 8KTA3 board; no jumpers, improved bios and settings. After reading a couple of reviews I ordered one last night to replace my KT7-R. It appears to be the equal of the IWILL KK266 but I like the EPOX board layout and bios better. It is allready approved by AMD for Palamino. Multipliers go to 14 , FSB settings run up to 180, increments of 1.

Check it out before you buy.

As the world turns the newbie sits in the corner and waits for the smoke to clear...and wonders who really makes a mobo that will work for my first box...you know no clippin or snippin...

EPOX 8KTA3PRO

The AMD Palamino is a 1.6 Ghz cpu right? If so the Iwill says it can take a cpu up to that speed.
