I was wondering if anybody in here has a good set of 2.1 or 4.1 speakers that they didn't pay for by selling their kidney.

Optical audio input is a plus but not really necessasary. I know Klipsch speakers are proclaimed as the computer speaker god but 400 bucks is not worth that (i also don't have that to spend just on speakers).

So my questions are as follows:

1.)Is there a good set of 2.1 or 4.1 speakers out there for say around $50 to $75.

2.)Are there any sets out there that are good that are less then that price range, also is there sets out there that are a little above that price range that are Uber speakers.

thanks,

I have these Altec Lansing (ATP3) speakers. they are nice 2.1 speakers...in my opinion. Plus they are cheap in price.

EDIT: make sure you have a good sound card, i used these on my old mobo onboard sound and they sounded ok...when i upgraded my system i used these on onboard VIA AC'97 Audio what a massive sound quality change. Now i cant wait to buy a new PCI sound card...a game theater xp :D

I highly recommend those 2.1 speakers. They are what I am currently using and there sound quality is great. I believe you can get them new for $50 - $75 now.

Try the Cambridge SoundWorks Digital. They are an outstanding solution for the economy minded audiophile. I have seen the 2.1 versions for as low as $35 shipped, the 4.1 version for about $60.

yep im getting those refurb klipsch 4.1s thank you for giving me that link. I don't think i would have expected klipsch to even have refurbs. I was going to buy a new Ti4200 but i think im going to divert my cash to sound first.
