I'm thinking about building a new system and selling this one cause its Intel and gives me nothing but problems when it comes to gaming and that's what iam all about..so here are the computer I'm selling spec to the computer ill be building tell me what you think and if its a good trade.

Intel
600-Watt PSU
Pentium 4 w/ HT 3.0GHz
2.5GBs PC4200 533MHz
120GB Hard Drive IDE
GeForce 6800Ultra PCI-E
Asus P5ND2-SLI
Sound Blaster ZS2
DVD Burner
Stocked cooling

to a

AMD
510-Watt PSU
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 1MB Cache 2000MHz FSB Socket 939 San Diego Core w/ Cooling Fan
Asus AN8-SLI Deluxe nForce 4 SLI Audio/GB-LAN/IEEE ATX
Crucial Ballistix 1GBDDR 500PC4000(will upgrade to 2GBs)
Western Digital Caviar SE 80GB 7200RPM SATA150
XFX PVT70GUDE7 7800GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI-E
Kingwin AquaStar AS-3000 Water Cooling Kit
PrimoChill PC ICE Non-Conductive Water Cooling Fluid - UV Green3/8"ID 1/2"OD Clear Vinyl Tube
Koolance HD-40-LO6 Hard Drive Cooler

Now this computer comes to about 1,200 little more and it has lighting and so on... would it be a good trade? Thanks

Why not a Opteron 146 or 148? Runs at a lower stock vcore and OCs better with the same cache.

I don't think you need the retail fan on the 3700+ if your going to watercooling, OEM verisons might be cheaper.

Is 80GB going to be fine for you? If so, you might want to consider the Western Digital Raptor 74GB, it may be a tad expensive, but you want the best gaming performance you can get. Works great for you since you don't need too much HDD space. But then it only improves load times, not gaming performance or fps.

this is off topic but why would you run 2.5gigs of ram in the intel config? That messes with your dual channel ability.

Ya your right ill look around for a 74GB but other then that do you guys think its a good trade?

the raptors make a noticeable difference in loading times for games. BF2 especially since the loads are horrendous as it is.

The PSU you have in mind should be replaced with an OCZ Powerstream 520W

ok so now my setup sould look like

OCZ Powerstream 520W
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 1MB Cache 2000MHz FSB Socket 939 San Diego Core w/ Cooling Fan
Asus AN8-SLI Deluxe nForce 4 SLI Audio/GB-LAN/IEEE ATX
Crucial Ballistix 1GBDDR 500PC4000(will upgrade to 2GBs)
Western Digital Raptor 74GBs
XFX PVT70GUDE7 7800GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI-E
Kingwin AquaStar AS-3000 Water Cooling Kit
PrimoChill PC ICE Non-Conductive Water Cooling Fluid - UV Green3/8"ID 1/2"OD Clear Vinyl Tube
Koolance HD-40-LO6 Hard Drive Cooler

Now to my question is it a good trade from the intel? lol

that amd is a much better system. twice the video performance, give or take.
keep an eye on woot.com for the cheap 250gb drives to add mass storage ;)

That sytem would kill your Intel, better CPU, better grphx card, better everything.

That'd be a damn good rig esp. if youre going to oc.

*edit : i hope your getting 2x 1gb sticks right?*
