Goofy Voodoo 5500

Here is my problem about 2 weeks ago my voodoo 5500 was crashing on 3D games like UT,SOF,Black and White,Q3 among others...what will happen the game will load and with in 5 secs the game will close completely by itself with out a error and I will be back on my desk top?
The operating system at the time was XP pro and I ran the card on this for about 2 months before having problems..well since then I formated and put on ME and still have the problems I can't even run 3Dmark2000 it will close right when it loads the 1st test... also I noticed that my 5volts runs around 4.86 now when the card is loaded could it drop my 5volts and in turn shut down the 5500?
Is there a program that I can use to test the card and see what happends to the 5volt setting?
Maybe it is time to upgrade but I know there is something wrong with the card or the cpu..but confused

I'm not sure it's the Voodoo 5. Try putting all your settings back to default and such and see if the problems persist. (no overclocking)

OC will cause this. I have WinXP Pro and if I go over 150FSB the same problems happen to me. Sometimes programs won't load sometimes it takes forever. Clock it down alittle.

Well I went back to default settings but why would it get screwy when I PC was overclocked?
Does this mean I need a bigger PSU?
Should I upgarde the Video Card?

Overclocking can always cause problems, its what determines how far you can overclock..see it like this...
If I go from 1400mhz to 1600 without probs then I have a succesful overclock, but if I go from 1600 to 1700 and I get errors and lockups, then It wasnt sucesful and I have to leave it at 1600.

Basicly instability is your roadblock when it comes to overclocking.
Also, at high FSB's some devices can make corupted data and this causes problems for other devices which results in havoc or just lockups or as in your case, programs crashing.
