Got a 2.6C. HT or not?

Hey guys, i got a P42.6C based system and i have a program that says i should turn off hyper threading. So i have turned it off. But my question is, why would it want HT off, and what harm could it do if I did turn it on?

Turn off Hyper threading? Thats like telling osama bin laden to shave.
Dude keep it TURNED ON... the whole purpose why it is even implemented is so you can multi task better. You will get a significant performance boost with it turned ON. so keep it ON!

Once again, turn it on... it is the total opposite of harmful

You do need to turn it off if your flashing the bios...but otherwise...If it aint broke, fix it till it is?

the program is called pro tools or something like that. It says to turn off hyper threading or something. So im gonna turn it on. THe program wants it off, but ill turn it on and see if it works.
