I installed the client from stanford. got the cat 6.10 drivers and a reinstall of dx9c that they linked to. When I installed the client my cpu usage went to 100% and the temp rose accordingly. GPU temps havent changed so I do not believe it is running anything. Am I miss understanding something or is something just not right?

The GPU client will cause 1 CPU core to run at 100% or close to that. You may need to use a trick to kick your GPU into its 3D clocks to get maximum performance. I noticed my GPU temp didn't rise as much as when folding compared to gaming.

ya, the GPU needs one of the cores (assuming dual core) to FOLD @ full potential.

if your running a single core CPU than you will only be able to do one or the other, CPU -or- GPU but not both.

GPU temps should defiantly go up when its FOLDing.

They already did put that in the How To on the ATI FAQ page. :)

Known compatibility issues

The service install option of previous console clients will not work as usual. The main issue is that the client must be run under the user account which owns the display in order for us to access the GPU for calculations. This is not a bug, but a fundmental limitation of Windows when used for GPU computation.
