Hi guys,

I just bought a used ps3 at my local gaming store.
I just got home and went to the playstation website and made my PSN ID or whatever.

When i removed the current guys emailaddress/password and put mine in the ps3 said that I cannot log into my account if there is another account on the ps3.

How do i remove it and get it so it is using my new account and not his.
Is there a way to freshly remove everything on this hd and allow myself to login? Otherwise i cannot connect to the psn. I am sure you guys know a way, im just stressing ! thanks

I bought my PS3 used as well. I just needed the guy's PIN, and was able to completely restore the PS3 to factory defaults, this brings a "full" format, that deletes everything including past accounts. After the reset, you should be prompted to create an account, then connect to PSN that way.

If all else fails, send sony an email. I've used their customer support before and they're pretty good, I'm sure they wouldn't mind helping you configure your playstation. Also, welcome to the PS3 world :)
