I thought that if all my backplates were removed and used a fan to blow on my hsf the temperature would be lower. Wrong, by sealing everything back up and using the fan to draw air out, I have lost about 2 C. And that is with the bus notched up another 2Mz. It's so easy for us newbies to get it all wrong.

it depends. For some people, running without a case on cools better. For others its worse. The better the airflow in the case, the worse the case will do open because you ruin that airflow.
