Is there a site which provides Group total wu's more often updated than the main SETI@home page? I wanted to make a counter showing our wu's and our nearest competitor's wu's being Athlonmb for now.

You should try the place used in the live counter at the bottom of the OC SETI site.
Aside from that you should try to use a query to the berkeley server akin to the one used in SETI team. Maybe later today I can try to make a tutorial of making queries in Excel that could possibly help you.
