GTX 1080 Power Limit Mod?

So this kid basically bypasses the shunts to boost the power limit and get rid of power related throttling.
Is this legit or just stupid?

It's quite possibly legit. I would wait for one of our voltmodding people to jump in and give their $.02.

In previous series were similar mods on some cards so I guess it can be legit. I would still wait for confirmation from guys who run on cold at least to be sure it won't kill cards when you set higher voltage. Somehow this PCB desing looks cheap for so expensive card. I'm just not sure what to think about it.

Just wait for the Pascal bios tweaker...there's no need to do a hardware mod for power limit.
