Hi all!

I decided to get a GTX 680 (looking at the GALAXY GC edition or EVGA signature edition) when I can find one of the listed models in stock. As of right now I am running PNY GTX 460s 1gb in SLI.

I have enough spare parts from rebuilding recently that I will be using one of the GTX 460s to finish of the spare parts to build a HTPC. That leaves me with me one spare GTX 460.

Now would it be worth the extra power and heat to dedicate that extra GTX 460 in my gaming PC to a Physx card?

Worth it is ENTIRELY subjective.

To me? No it is not worth it. For someone else that plays the few games that support PHYSX enough to want a dedicated card, then yes it would be to them.

Here is a similar question.

Blue or Yellow which is better?

(People will definitively give you answers but even if 90% choose blue and you like Yellow... who cares what the blue choosers thought?)

This example question was not to be a smart *** just point out that in this situation what YOU think is more important than what others think.

You already have the card so try it for yourself. Use it for a week, then pull it. See if your gameplay changes at all. Then decide if the change is something you can live with or not.

I always come across this. Someone trying to dedicate an older NVidia card to Physx games and because they are getting a new Nvidia card...

does not make any sense to me...not trying to be rude at all.

why not just use your 680 for Physx games??

they both support it.

or sell it.

I think the best idea would be to find some test results of the games you play with dedicated physx cards. Then see if the improvement is worth it to you.
