Here are some of my posts that I just compiled into one post. Hopefully to get any help available.

I'm trying to upgrade my BIOS, and I get some *.bin files to update my motherboard (ABIT BE6 V2) I think there the right ones... but Im not sure. can someone plz tell me which/where I can get the right one.

the other thing is that when I try to update my bios with a certain bin file.
(Beh_xu.bin) as I said, I dont know if its the right file. I'm not really good with this updating stuff, I'm new.

Any help?

ok, I'm getting these erros that I cant seem to understand.. how to fix. or change my first error was abuot EMM386 and QEMM so, I didn laod them in the commad ( i made a disk with format a: /s) and I got rid of that problem, now... my NEW problem.. I try toFLASH the bios, I got the properfiles fromf the ABIT website... BER_XK.bin for my BE6v2 mobo. Now, when I try to flash using awrdflash.exe.
I enter the file to load-->ber_xk.bin
I save the bios -> oldbios
and then.. I get
Checksum D0ABH
"THE programs file's part number does not match with your systm."
Proceed Y/N?
--> Y
--> ERROR unknow file type (and I get booted out of program...)

anyideas?




Here are other problems I have, all related globaly to one. Not being able to update my bios (I presume) and having problems with my games and system freezing:

I'm relatively new to this stuff, I've been absorbing knowledge eversince I've started to have problems with my computer freezing with games, and me getting a system sound like "BEEEEEE"

Now I have an ABIT BE6v2 mobo, and an ATI RADEON 64mb DDR AGP vid card. Now, you just stated above that the BX bpoards dont support agp multipliers... or 4x multiplers.. could that be my problem with freezing games?

As for your AGP questions:

BX boards (such as yours) only has x1 and x2 - not AGPx4. This doesn't matter much though, as your Radeon also supports 2x as well as 4x.

Your mobo's AGP divider is 2/3 at its best, and there is no way to solve that. (meaning that it will run 66MHz when your FSB is 100). What is your FSB?

are you sure you've got the right BIOS bin file.There's the original BE6 as well as the BE6-II, as well as the BE6-II Rev2.

If as you say your's is the SH BIOS. By detective work, I can tell you that your board is a BE6-II (original). Use the following url: ftp://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/bios/be6-II/behxu.exe for your latest BIOS. I think your attempting to flash with a wrong BIOS version. You should be using BEHXU, NOT BERXU.

Give this one a go, and if it don't work, try D/Ling it from another FTP site as it might be a corrupted file your trying to flash it with.

I agree with markedmundb. We both think you are trying to flash with the wrong BIOS for your motherboard version. It is easy to get confused with all the revisions.

It is lucky that the program won't let you flash with the wrong BIOS file. Otherwise your BIOS upgrade would likely involve sending to Abit for the BIOS chip.

My FSB is 100mhz.

for that link. How the heck did you figure out that that was the right bios upgrade for me? I went to the BABIT site, and I downloaded the "newset" upgrades, and It never worked, but the link you gave me,the bin file included. It worked wonderfully.. Thanks alot.
