My Servers OS/App hard drive just went today...yeah, the server I just put together the day before yesterday..

It was surprising, and not surprising at the same time...

If I RMA this drive, Itd be the 3rd 5T060H6 I've had to do so with...and I've only ever bought the one...

I'm going to send in the rma request, telling them to send me a newer model as the replacement, I just won't risk putting any data on another one of these..

::mumble..grumble..::

On a happier note, I did break into the top 230 today,

I've never had luck with Maxtor drives, and on the other hand, have an old 10GB 5400rpm Fujitsu that's done me well for quite a while.

i have an old 13 gig fujitsu that has done me very well also. i even broke a pin off of it and it still works. no dma but the things still works. its the only hdd in my k6-2 cruncher. the interesting thing is that i cant get any linux distro to install on the thing but 98se just doesnt care and installs without a hitch! weird i say.....

Funny, back in the day, well, the last time I tried to run *nix, I had that 10gig Fujitsu in my own box as a backup and was trying to run all kinds of diff distros off that Fuji. drive, maybe that was causing all that instability I was telling ya about.
