Hey friends,

Even if I buy a new case for a brand new rig because I want 2 gpus and more breathing roo., I want to update my HAF X with a newer used mobo and cpu but my fans are noisy especially the front I had to unplug. 230mm x 30mm seems hard to find and my last 200mm needed a funky washer config. I need also a second 230mm for the door. I envision this as my R&D Linux rig. Tell me any ideas you have. I am considering some way to extend the front fan brackets but before I go chomping into my favorite case of all time, maybe someone know the best options. And I want to update the busted top front IO panel. The case otherwise is in good shape despite being made to collect dust like crazy and I blow it out weekly. The fans were inevitably going to die after 14 years.

I have see possible fans on ebay but there's gotta be a better rgb option and even a little fan system I could add. I do have access to welding gear but I want to keep the case as original as possible.

Thanks,

JIM FROM PHILLY

There aren't many out there (230x30), indeed. I don't see a couple of 200mm with rgb though (Thermaltake).

Why dual gpus in 2025? For productivity, yes?

Your chances of finding a fan with compatiable screw holes are very slim. You can find some Thermaltake/Cooler Master/Noctua 200mm fans, and maybe if you're lucky one or two screw holes will align. I once used super glue on a fan and it wasn't so bad, introduced a bit of humming because of vibration. I also tried double sided tape, it works well as long as you get strong tape, it also dampens vibrations.
