i found the half-life folder in the registry. so.. where would i be able to see the CD-key?

they just ignore me. I have all the files on my HD i can play half-life. but i dunno how to see my Cd-key. is there anywhere i can see it?

Wait wait wait...

So you have Half-Life installed, fully working online and offline. You have the game installed with your real cd-key right? And you just want to see what it is?

Or do you need another cd-key? If so, you should be able to buy it online from Valve... I dunno how... But when I lost my Tribes 2 cd-key Seirra offered to sell a new one to me... I think it was around 10 bucks at the time...

yeah, its almost fully working, but i cant update it cus its so far behind in patches. i just want to see wut my cd key is. i tried usin the key changer to see wut mine is, and i dunno where to look for it in the INI or registry.:(

shortbus has it right. If you don't see the CD key there, you no longer have your CD key.

The only way you will have your Cd key is if you have previously entered it into the computer. The key is NOT stored on the disc at all. The game uses an algorithim (math equation) to determine if the key you entered is valid....which allows for an infinate amount of keys to be used, and for them to not have to code each disc with a specific key.

In other words, if the CD key is not in your registry, you will never get it back. HL is cheap.....you chould just grab another copy of it and use the CD key that comes with that.

And just FYI....if you install steam, and it asks for your CD key, then that means you don't have it any longer. When I installed steam, I already had HL installed so it just auto-detected my CD key, because it knows exactly where to look for it. If you don't have HL or CS installed, Steam will ask you to enter a CD key....

well, i found my CD-key in one of my old notepad files. problem iz CS lags for me more than america's army. i'll fix it somehow,
