anyone else here playing this? ive played it a little, its a blast! its literally halo 3 ported for pc and it runs exceptionally well dont even notice its a port better than most ports ive played, kind of sad considering it was fan built. download links can be had in the reddit page for it.

If this is the single player campaign ill download it straight away, if its just pvp... meh :rain:

Don't get it, why not just make an emulator like for the PlayStation, coding that different ? Pretty sure most of us have hardware fast enough to run the games by now.

It isn't nearly that easy. Original xbox still hasn't been emulated. Wii has been decently well.

have seen emulators for everything from Spectrum to iPhone, whats so different about xbox ? or simply there's in interest in making one ?

The newer the console the harder it is to brute force the hardware in emulation. It's more than just 'okay run this as xbox', there's a ton of memory, audio, video, control scheme, display, process, etc that all has to be duplicated and some of it is likely not too difficult, but other parts still has people having issues. As far as I know nintendo 64 and snes emulators are still updated occasionally to fix bugs or offer support for games.

Granted, this is entirely a different discussion that could have its own thread if you decide to make one.
