i wanted to see if a raptor was faster then a scsi drive

using sandra

this is the first time i have tryed to do this

my main reason for doing this is i intend to start some pcmark runs and wanted to no which would be the best drive for the job

now as i understand it the parts i have put in red are the results of the 3 drives
i tested

and it would seem the scsi kicked the raptors a**

now scsi drives have been comming down in price and are around the same as
the raptor gig for gig

and the controllers second hand are only $15
 
Looks to me by those numbers that the only thing the SCSI drive has over the Raptor is access time. But as ELVIS mentioned the Raptor access time seems off.

What you really need is at least a dual drive RAID setup using SCSI or Raptors. Even better would be a 4 or more spindle (drives) array which can be done with SCSI, not sure about the Raptors on our desktop boards. I'd imagine you could use as many drives as your mobo has onboard SATA ports.

SCSI has the advantage as it's been around alot longer. If you wanna compare true SCSI performance then you need to run U320 drives/controllers.
