The great USA!
I have 2 hd's inside my computer and one external. I have a problem though, when I save or write files to the slave drive it is extremely slow, but the external drive is fast just like the master. What if anything can I do to speed it up?

The master drive is in ntfs format while the slave and external are fat32.

Thanks

Check the Device Manager on the Advanced Tab for the ATA/ATAPI Controllers, the mode should be UDMA. Since you are running XP, check the Event Viewer for Device errors. XP can ramp down the DMA modes. If you are copying files from the Master HDD to the Slave, it will be significantly slower as the files will be copied through memory and then back to the slave(only one device on the channel can be accessed at any time).

Thanks for the help. Everything checked out ok, I guess it has to do with being copied through the memory first like you said.

Thanks :)
