hey, glad to hear.....if it can complete an install and boots fine...be sure to load up an Anti-virus scanner with the most recent virus defenitions and do a complete scan......both with the AV software and scandisk.....unless you have other disk utilities...( like norton utilities "disk doctor" and such..)
I'll still post a "low level format" program when i find it...or better known now as a "Zero-fill utility" since no newer ide hd's can be low level formatted outside of the factory. Just in case you may need it....
:EDIT:...I have a file for you, it works with all ide drives to write zero's and map out bad sectors, I dl'ed it myself and am currently running it on another system to fix a drive that refuses to be partitioned...so far it's working....
to use it...DL it and run the file on your working system, you'll need a blank floppy in the drive, the program will create a utility disk from the floppy with the needed files, the link is below....
