sup guys...i have 2 WD hd's 1 40g 7200 and 20g 5400...and its been freezing up on me while im on the comp, then i try to restart they both read in bios then when it gets to "VERIFYING DMA POOL DATA" it freezes then il leave it off and it will boot up but it takes like 5 minutes...could my drive be dying?

go to wdc.com and download the diagnostic tools. Put them on a floppy, set ur bios to boot from floppy, and do a quick test on them both, if u get errors, ur drives are dieing.

They got a windows version too i think, but u dont want windows crasing on u, so just do the bootable version.

Here is the website to get it at.

hey thanks everclock i checked the newer one first and it has no errors, but the second is so old that the software isnt even posted...thanks
