When I start Win XP home, the hardware wizard pops up and says a new printer has been found. I hit cancel and another one pops up(same message). I already have the printer installed, and I get this message even if I unplug the printer. What the heck is it detecting? How do I get it to stop w/o disabling the auto detect? Oh, I have check the "do not ask to install this again" box, It still asks.

i'm assuming the printer is fully installed. did you check in device manager to make sure there are no exclamation marks?

Yea, nothing out of the ordanary in the Device Manager. I get the message with or without the printer connected:confused: The printer works fine it has been installed for months. This just started happening one day.:eh?:

uninstall the printer and reboot. (unplug it too)
does it still try to install the printer?
if not, then reinstall the printer and see how it goes.

if it does, then there's something seriously wrong, which i have no idea about. :p
