having prob with sound card

alright i just got a sound blaster Audigy Platinum... i installed it and everything... but it wont show up.. it doesnt even find the card itself... what should i do, ive tried restalling it but that didnt work... do u think its conflicting with my video card, becuase i have them right next to each other and i have had that prob in other pcs

If I understand you correctly, you installed your sound card in slot 1.

You should never install a card in slot 1 because it conflicts with the AGP video card slot.

well its not my pc, im just trying to help this guy out at my work, ussually i can fix it, but i wasnt sure.. the setup he has is video, then sound, the whatever else he has... so i should just move the sound card right??
