I bought the A7M266 since all of the previous A7-series were compatible with the MC462. However, it seems that the A7M266 has an extra capacitor. Has anyone dealt with this configuration? I am currently asking Swiftech and CoolerGuys about this. I really do not want to return it and trade off for the 370 model which I think will fit since it's dimensions are 2.5" x 2.5" as opposed to 3" x 3" for the 462. Just haven't measured as I am still fuming over this predicament. I had received the hsf before the mb.

Any help would be immensely and truly appreciated!

just remove enough metal from the cooler to clear the damn thing, thats what modding is all about :)

After spending $90 on this dang thing, the last thing I want is to spend more time and money on grinding the 1/2" off the right corner. To get someone to mill would not be much, but to waste their time would be to be assessed a minimum charge fee just to turn it on.

I will look at Home Depot to get an metal grinder adapter for my drill. But the jest is that I am aware of the milling, but did not want to go that route. I have spoken with Swiftech and they are looking into it, but I notified them that it would require a milling job as the extra capacitor is in the highly restricted zone according to AMD mb spec. If it is cost prohibitive, I will replace with the MC370-07 or Alpha PEPT models.
