i plugged in the xp-m 2400 and it did not post.

the first try it did however, posted at 1000mhz

so i went into bios to set it as default, and after that, it never started.

after clearing cmos and not posting, i figured it was the cpu.

i took my old barton 2500 and it didnt post.

i took the xp-M2400 and stuck it in my shuttle an35n and it posted with that

so the mobo was the problem.

now, nothing will work!

please help, i waited all month (i dont live at home, but my computer is at home) to test this out and it aint working!

specs are the first pc.

im running (or was) bios revision 1004 with a 2.0 board.

thanks!

try clearin the cmos again.. i had to do it 3-4 times when things mess up

also after a bit make sure all the fans are spining.. may sound odd ..but it will tell you if anything is wrong..

my vidoecard fan would stop spining if anything went wrong

thanks, ill test in 2 weeks =(

also i tried clearing it several times, pulling the battery out, etc.

i also tried to restore my bios with Agent Smiths method of restoring the bios.

it still didnt work.

i pretty much came t othe conclusion that its probably a corrupt bios.

I managed to corrupt the bios on my A7N8X once. Call up Asus and for $25 they will send you a new BIOS chip.

this isnt covered by warrantee?

do i have to replace it myself?

gah, i wish they would use dual bios technology like gigabyte does.

thanks for the replies.
