Hello Everybody - I'm new here, I hople I'm posting where I should be...
Anyway, I need advice purchasing a new netbook. Here are my basic criteria:
Screen size - between 11" and 14"
Features - DO NOT NEED car readers, disk drive, webcam, other extras - I nee something very basic
Uses - I will mostly be typing and surfing the web
I need to be able to multitask ex) play pandora, have email open, do research at the same time.
IT CANNOT BE A MAC - I'm buying a new COWON Z2 soon and I need Windows XP/Vista/7/2000
My price range is anywhere under $350. Any suggestions would be great - thanks a lot!

I purchased my mother in law an Acer Walmart special for Christmas and was really surprised at how well it runs. I think I paid 240.00 for it. Nice bright and clear screen. Runs reasonably fast. Although you do need a hard drive and I think you will find most netbooks don't multitask too well. They are pretty much one or two applications at a time.
