Help Choosing Cooler For i7-4790k

I recently picked up an i7-4790k and Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H motherboard. I'm excited to get into some overclocking on the Intel platform, having only played with the FX series processors previously. I'm looking for a good air cooler that will allow clearance for Corsair Dominator heatsinks and remain relatively quite.

I've got two options in mind, but am open to other suggestions. What I was thinking was either:

• Dark Rock 3 - $59.90 (sale)
• Noctua NH-D15S - $79.90

What would the forum recommend.

A Corsair 230T. Max recommended cooler height is 165mm.

That is the height of the Noctua I believe. It is definitely a better cooler than the other one you are considering. If you have the room I'd get the regular D15 rather than the S. The price seems to be about the same and worst case is you don't install one of the fans and use it elsewhere.

The normal NH-D15 will clear Dominator RAM, I would get it.
All you need to do is swap the location of one fan.
