This morning I got up and jumped on the pc...
While surfing the net...I went to play some mp3 via winamp...they would play but no sound...So I check my sound card...it was sticking out of the PCI slot a little and dummy me pushed it back in...the second I touched the card the whole pc flicked off....all the fans everything went dead...So I turned it back on...The fans Spin but no the monitor doesnt come on..and no sound from the speaker I plugged in to the mobo...So I resetted the BIOS...still nothing...Took out the video card (PCI voodoo3) tested in an old slot a athlon mobo with a 550 athlon...worked fine...stuck a AGP card in the KT7a..nothing again...Stuck voodoo3 PCI back in..nothing...took out all cards except video and disconnected hardrives and roms...nothing...

So what i have is a board that come on...the fans spin..no sound from the plugged in speaker...and the monitor doesnt come on...Tested with a diff monitor...no go as well....

You might have killed it.

Try a different CPU in it ( a known good one, borrowed from a friend, possibly?).

A note to anyone else who sees this: if you see an unseated card in your system, shut down before you re-seat it.

What Sickboy said. You can also usually take your processor in to your local store and have them test it. Based on you taking everything out, you either fried the processor or the motherboard.

Well see theres a problem...with borrowing a cpu...no in bland County Va has a athlon or duron cpu....if they do they are in a gateway and cant open the case without loseing warrenty....I may get my unlce that is coming in this weekend to test in his Ausus or whatver its called...although he just has the KT133 chipset not KT133a..but that shouldnt matter right? my tbird is the 266 version.....if my beloved KT7A is deceased...then i guess instead of getting a ATI radeon...Im getting a new board..possiblely another KT7A or KT7E one of those 2 choices....or asus...ugh I miss my KT7A and tribes 2 alrdy!!!!

Oh and for all of you who read as Sickboy said..take heed of the warning he gives..I learned the hardway and my KT7A was the price I paid....

*sits down and cries* WWAAAAHHHHHH

PS I hope I i just fried the board and not the processor as I would rather get a new board than processor

Guess what while on teh phone with tech support at Abit the guy said I could use Abits Warrenty services and send them the board since it still has the warrenty sticker on it....cost 25...I dont have a fax machine so I gave them my mail addy (US MAIL) and he is going to forawrd it to RMA of abit and they will send me an RMA form and all I have to do is ship off teh board to them...they will either repair it or replace it...WWWWOOOOOHHHHHHOOOOOO!!!!!
