okay, im crying......this is hurting...please help...

did you try reseting the bios? there should be a jumper you place so all default settings of bios are set. Might help, otherwise, u might need to buy a bios chip or at least call your mobo manufacturer tech support

:( ....ive resetted a dozen times....no luck......ive just bought this motherboard too....its taken me months to upgrade....i hope you feel for me...it really hurts inside. ....how much will the bios cost?.

Try resetting the CMOS the instructions should be in your owner's manual. Or just remove your motherboard battery (with power off and un plugged).

Good Luck.

When you power it on, does the floppy light flash at all?
If it does, you may be able to make a bootable disk with the old BIOS and the proper commands in the autoexec.bat. If not, then I'm afraid there's probably nothing you can do unless you can either get a new BIOS, or put the chip in a KT7A and reflash to the KT7E BIOS.

nope...no flashing light on the floppy, but the HDD light stays on......hhmmm..apparently, the bios i used IS correct...hhmmm.......the thing is, i do it correctly....ill outline exactly what i did, and you can say where i went wrong...

1. Downloaded the bios file...it was a self-extracting exe.....i put the extracted files in a folder called c:\windows\desktop\flash\

2. I then shutdown into ms-dos mode and went to the directory where the flash was.

3. I ran the .bat file which executed awdflash.exe with a command line option to use the new bios.

4. I confirmed i wanted to flash the bios, it did it, with no evident errors, then it returned to the command prompt.

5. I switched my comp off, then switched it on.....switches on, but nothing else.

does that help?......surely i did it right?

Do you get any beeping codes? if not check first if your motherboard PC speaker is plugged on, then if there is a beep code, check in the manual or some web site what the beep code means.

nope...no beeping......ive decided im gonna have to hot swap the bios....ive looked into it and i know the procedure......my mate has a kt7a, so ill hot swap it with his and then see what happens...im going to bed now (its 1:10am in uk now) .....ill check for more posts in the morning..if no other ideas exist, im going for the hot swap...cheers for ya support guys.....still crying by the way.............. ;) ...

p.s.: do ya reckon itll work if i do the ol hot swap then?...oooh....hang on...i didnt think which bios to use...hmmm........i havent got the original backed up.how can i get the original kt7e bios?...hmmm

Was the proc OC'd when you flashed, I have heard that it can cause errors and stuff, I also lost a board to a bad bios flash, only cost 10 bucks to get a new chip. Slapped it in and now I have a duron 750 along with my other two comps!!! It's easier just to order a new CMOS chip. Sorry to hear about the loss.

Your best bet is to hotswap the bios chip with your friends. I did this recently with my A7V and it worked like a charm. I booted into windows with his bios popped mine back in and flashed the bios in windows. Just be very careful not to touch anything else since your computer will be on.

awww man you're not alone...... i really shouldn't have messed around with my pc on friday the 13th..... ahhhhh shiiiii.. i was o/cing the memory and pushed it too hard at 141Mhz (freaking corsair cas2 dud or something)

dang thing pops up a screen that says "bios checksum bad". now it refuses to boot AT ALL. just turns on and w/out even beeping it automatically cuts power and shuts right back down after the hdd spins up... i HOPE it's just the bios.

maybe i'll have more luck on the 14th?

true!! it was friday the 13th!!!.....agh!!!!......im gonna hot swap at my mates in a min....ill tell ya the news
