I have a secondary computer that up until a week ago worked fine. Trouble is I left it in the same room with an idiot (namely me) hehe. Jetway mobo 620BF with a celly 500MHz. The problem is that I was given a good VooDoo2 and a good modem (both work on my other system) and when I fitted them to the system and booted it up, the comp couldnt detect them. Done the qbvious, checked to make sure they were seated, control panel--add new hardware, device manager and deleted other drivers etc...but still nothing. I believe that I might have inadvertently changed a setting in my Bios or something. Any help will be great???Thanks

ok, I don't know if this will help, but it helped me when my comp didn't detect the modem:

First boot into windows, try installing the modem software any way you can, than after installing it reboot, and it should detect the modem. (I can't remember exactly how I installed them, because it was a very long time ago.)

and as for the Voodoo, I'm not sure, but I have a stupid suggestion (pardon me for this one) is your motherboard Plug and Play? or is it enabled?

Hope this helps.

Well I finally now have the system recognizing the modem but it wont connect, check all settings and they seem to be right

How can I tell whether the mobo is plug and play? / enabled? Pardon my ignorance! All I know is that a short time ago when I used to add hardware the system always detected it on bootup
Hope this helps.

Hey sycotoad, long time no see. When ya installed the Cellie if ya cleared the bios you may need to enable PnP, and make sure ya tell it your using a PnP OS. This should all be in bios, just look around :)
