ok i have a asus p3bf mobo, with a 550E at 825,,,ok now i aquired an 800 and was gonna try to overclock that, but i needed a bios update to do so. well i downloaded the latest update, as well as the new flash util. and when i try to update it tells me the processor is in protected mode. what the hell is this. i tried to set the processor back to normal at 550 still nothing. im stuck,,please help me all you gurus.

Are you using a PURE DOS environment for the flash? As in a floppy with just the system files and command.com + the flash utility and bios .bin file on it. You must boot from this floppy and be in the dos mode it creates before attempting to flash.
