HElp me with my HDD ?

Ok I can't format my C: drive.... It looks like it formating then it gets 100% done and then it says "ERROR CAN NOT WRITE BOOT" the reason I'm trying to format is bcause I got the ERROR message saying that HIMEM.SYS was corrupted can you help me please ?

A couple questions so I can get a better idea.

1. Are you using any type of virus monitoring software or the like?
2. Is your system overclocked when you try to format?
3. Do you ever get any other errors?
4. Have you tried to format the drive in MS-DOS using FDISK?

go here.... http://support.wdc.com/download/ and d/l the first program on the list.."diagnostic"....then put that on a floppy disk, restart with it in the drive, and run the low level format program....that will write zeros to the disk....start you all over

fdisk /mbr might be worth a shot.

Or cant I just copy the HIMEM.SYS file from another computer? or they all arent all the same ?
